The general situation of Baotou

Baotou which means the place of having deer is Baoketu in Mongolian. So it is called the Deer City. It lies in the western region of the Inner Mongolia. The north of Baotou is near the Mongolia, the south of Baotou faces the Huanghe River. The east and west of Baotou is near the Tumochuan Plain and Hetao Plain. The Yin Mountain is in the center of Baotou. There are Daqing Mountain and Wula Mountain in Baotou. The average height of the mountains is 2000 meters high. The highest peak is 2324 meters high. The geography of Baotou is from high east to low west. Baotou locates 109°50'E ~ 111°25'E, 41°20'N ~ 42°40'N. It is so beautiful and warm. The average temperature is 6.4°C, the highest temperature is 38.4°C and the lowest temperature is - 31.4°C there . The average rainfall is 300 millimeters every year. The total area is close to 30,000 square kilometers. It contains 9 counties which are Kundulun, Qingshan, Donghe, Jiuyuan, Shiguai, Baiyun, Guyang, Tumoteyou and Daerhaimaomingan. There are 43 folks such as the Menggu nationality, the Han nationality, the Hui nationality, Manchu and so on. The whole city's population is 2,300,000, the town population 1,580,000, the total area of the town people is 27691 square kilometers.
